Has anyone been watching or bidding on any of the coins graded by SGS that are currently on ebay, being sold by Aboncom? I am guessing that SGS is a third-tier grading service and Aboncom seems to be a division of SGS devoted to selling their graded coins. Anyone know anything about this?
hello you are correct, aboncom and sgs are one in the same. he is a self slaber, grade will be 5 to 8 points off
have you notice all his coins are ms-70 or pr-70
he ripes alot of people off.
the top 3 grader are PCGS , NGC , ANACS stay with these three and you cant go wrong

What this is -- a sham
STAY AWAY FROM PCGS UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING RIPPED OFF ~!!!
GET IT STRAIGHT:
This is the true meaning of P C G S (crappy grading company)
P-ocket
C-hange
G-rading
S-ervice
PCGS HAS THE WORST REPUTATION ON THE NET, CORRUPT BUSINESS PRACTICES, ENGAGES IN ANTICOMPETITIVE PRACTICES, YOU WANT IT GRADED HIGHER, YOU PAY THE BIG BUCKS -- AND YOU GET RIPPED OFF WITH THAT SHAM OF AN OUTFIT'S GRADING PRICES
RIPOFF IN ACTION? ABSOLUTELY
EXAMPLE: SHIPWRECK COINS -- PCGS CLEANS COINS (OR SENDS THEM OUT TO A THIRD PARTY) AND THOSE FRAUDSTERS WON'T EVEN REPORT IT ON THEIR SLABS THAT THE COIN WAS CLEANED.
ABSOLUTELY - PCGS IS A RIPOFF AND STAY AWAY FROM THOSE FRAUDSTERS.
THEY HAVE MADE COUNTLESS ERRORS IN COIN GRADING -- AND PCGS SUCKS.
i am ANNOUNCING THAT PCGS is as shady as the rest. No one can explain why those thieves won't identify a cleaned shipwreck coin as being cleaned. Anyone care to explain that bull crap?
That's odd. I thought that PCGS was one of the two best grading services. It's unusual to hear such vehement complaints about them.
I just sent a bunch of coins off to Dominion to be graded. They seemed to undergrade. Many brand new, straight from the mint, never-been-touched coins came back as 67s and 68s, much to my disappointment. They did however, grade and slab some of my 'cleaned' coins that NGC just returned in body bags.
I recently had a UK coin-set graded by PCGS. A UK Sovereign Set of great sentimental value, it had been presented to me by the Deputy Master of the Royal Mint himself, Roger d' L Holmes. The set came back with the 5 Pound Gold coin now exhibiting some foreign substance smeared across the reverse side above the cameo of St. George. I complained to PCGS, they repeatedly dropped the ball during the follow-up, failing to notify me about having received the coin in question back for inspection, not returned calls, etc. (1 of their staff even had the gall to claim I might have done this) & when I had had enough and told them politely so the president Don Willis: cancelled my friend's membership (who I had submitted the set through - check PCGS contract - notes 3rd party coin submission) with NO REFUND OFFERED and sent the coin-set back as is. Note: the 5 Pound graded PF69 Deep Cameo. If the choice came down for me to submit my coins through either PCGS or a banjo playing monkey, I would go with the monkey.
I HAVE BOUGHT SGS COINS AND IF COMPARED TO ANY OTHER COINS THEY DON'T! I WENT AS FAR AS COMPLAINING TO EBAYABOUT THEM BUT EBAY(THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS) WON'T CUT THEM OFF BECAUSE THEY MAKE TO MUCH OFF THEM!! THEY ALL SUCK! ILL GRADE MY OWN TOO! LOL SLICK
