If I had your budget, I would probably be more diversified too.
I do come across interesting coins from other countries in my change on occasion. I recently received a 2002 Panama coin in place of a quarter. It is the same size as a quarter with Balboa on one side . Can't figure out the denomination. Need to do some research.
This past year I had to cancel my proof set subscription with the Mint due to lack of funds. I hope I can resume it next year.
Although I like all coins, my main interest is what you could call "classic" US coins, meaning designs prior to the current ones.
I am currently collecting the following sets: US Type, State Quarters (the first one I will complete! Just need the d coins from the last two years.), Presidential dollars, American Eagle Silver bullion coins (only ones I can afford right now), Peace dollars, Liberty Walking half dollars, and Mercury dimes. I would also like to collect Standing Liberty quarters, Buffalo nickels, and Morgan dollars. My collecting budget has been rather slim recently, but I am finally reaching a point where I have more money to add to my collection.
What are your interests?
I have always admired the buffalo nickel and when the buffalo silver dollar came out in 2000 I thought it was very nice. So I chose the gold buffalo for my picture because I admire the design. I also live in New Mexico and have taught a large number of Native American students.
